Hyperhidrosis is a difficult condition to live with. Having to deal with the sweating on a continual basis makes many social situations, even intimate situations hard to manage.  This is why so many seek out Hyperhidrosis Treatment as soon as they learn they have it.  But what are the best Hyperhidrosis Treatments out there? What are the side effects? Will it even work?  These are the kinds of things you need to take into consideration.

The most extreme Hyperhidrosis Treatment is surgery.  Surgery involves cutting the sympathetic nerve which is near your undearms, this prevents your nerves from signalling your sweat glands to produce sweat.  This has a high rate of success but the procedure is irreversable.  That combined with possible complications makes it something to consider carefully.  It is possible to get compensatory sweating(CS) which means you will end up sweating in other areas of your body a lot more to make up for the nerves being cut.  In some patients this ends up being just as irritating.

Another Hyperhidrosis Treatment to consider are oral medications.  Anticholinergics block neurotransmitters like acetylcholine from stimulating your sweat glands.  This in turn leads to reduced sweating.  The only complication with this form of treatment are side effects such as increased heart rate, double vision, short-term memory loss, inability to concentrate, dry/sore throat, disorientation, and many more issues, too many to list.

Then of course there are antiperspirants which are the most frequently used Hyperhidrosis Treatment.  The main ingredient which makes this effective is “aluminum chloride”.  This is found in 10-15% concentrations in stores usually, however via prescription, you can get it as high as 30%.  The only issue is at such a high concentration, skin irritation is common, additionally, this treatment needs to be re-applied throughout the day.

Due to the inherant complications, it’s best to seek out more natural remedies before considering either one of these options.
